Five Ways Meditation Can Help You Achieve Your Goals Faster
I never thought I could be one of those people who sit for hours on end meditating. Truth is, I'M STILL NOT! But after conducting lots of research on the matter, I knew it was something I needed to try. Here's how meditation helped transform my life, from physical health to mental health, going after goals, and more. You might be surprised to find out that incorporating a simple, quick meditation can actually transform your everyday life (and future!) in many ways. Keep reading to learn how you can achieve your goals faster using meditation...
5 Ways Meditation Can Help You Achieve Your Goals Faster
1. Better Sleep
One of the positive side effects of meditation is that you will end up sleeping like a baby again. If you are looking to get more rest, have more energy during the day, become more productive and efficient at the job at hand, wake up rested and ready for the challenges, instead of being tired and unmotivated to work towards your goals, give meditation a shot before bed! I personally use the SimpleHabit meditation app as part of a quick night-time routine.
2. Decluttering Your Mind
Often the main reason for procrastination is the lack of focus. If you have too many thoughts occupying your mind at the same time, you will find it hard to focus on what you really want. Through meditation, you can get rid of the clutter and work on "designing your mind" instead of allowing the past and your current worries to interfere with your future.
3. Dealing with Difficult Emotions
It is also important to note that meditation can help you deal with difficult emotions and get you to let go of past pains and hurts. You will be able to acknowledge your feelings, but prevent them from interfering with your work. Whether you are suffering due to a break-up, a loss, or even low self-confidence, meditation allows you the chance to take a step back from your situation, providing the all-too-important (yet often overlooked) time to process, and perhaps begin to heal.
4. Seeing Your Life Clearer
Once you start meditating, things start to noticeably change. While you cannot change people or circumstances in your life, you can control your reaction and how you deal with them. You will begin to see your life as an outsider, instead of being inside an emotional cloud and not being able to make realistic judgments. Meditation can make you more down-to-earth, so you will not make decisions based on your emotions.
5. Setting SMART Goals
By now, you're probably vaguely familiar with how to set goals (if no t, check out this post I wrote about setting SMART goals!). However, when there’s chaos inside, this task can be challenging. Goal-setting can be simplified if you're able to see clearly what your strengths and limitations are, and where you need to improve your thought processes and work practices in order to achieve your personal targets more quickly.
If you would like to get rid of thoughts that no longer serve you, or become more productive, I highly recommend giving meditation a shot! It helps you declutter your brain, stay focused on the task at hand, and set clear goals for your future. With meditation you can get rid of the brain fog that is holding you back and begin to realize your full potential!
